Cheltenham Fire Company members train hard to be prepared to provide emergency fire, rescue and QRS (assisting the ambulance) services to the east side of Cheltenham Township. Because of our state rescue certification and competency, we are tasked with covering rescues within and beyond our home territory. The departments in Cheltenham and our neighboring communities work together on scene to back each other up and make sure our community is well protected. And all of this is done without a payroll expense. Those firefighters you see are not getting paid....they are all volunteers. This week we were joined at the training ground by our neighbors at Rockledge Fire Company who were also honing their rescue skills. We topped our night off by recognizing our most recent state certified firefighter, Joe Applegate. Congratulations Joe, thanks for your hard work!
