Volunteers Continuing to Serve

During these crazy times of Covid 19 shutdowns and stay at home orders, our volunteers continue to step up and serve despite this newest risk. Unfortunately emergencies cannot be put on hold. Our volunteers accept that added risk and, with proper precautions, continue to serve our community. We have had several significant incidents lately. Our company assisted Elkins Park Fire Company last week to help mitigate electrical issues in several homes. Our efforts prevented any significant damage. That same day, two golfers were injured when a tree fell striking them on a local golf course. Our crews helped Cheltenham EMS to safely remove those injured from the course so they could be transported. Last evening, we were notified of a vehicle accident on Tookany Creek Parkway. Our crews responded to find one vehicle off the roadway, on it's side, with heavy damage. The driver had removed himself and then collapsed. Crews cared for and prepared the patient for transport. It was a smooth transition when Cheltenham EMS arrived to provide advanced life support and transport. Crews checked for other victims, mitigated hazards, assisted Cheltenham Police Department and helped out Tookany Park Auto in removing the vehicle. Our motto "Neighbors helping neighbors" has truly come to light lately for us and our community who continues to take precautions and care for each other.
