| Our crews had an incredibly busy and dangerous evening yesterday following the severe, torrential rainstorms that rolled through Montgomery County. As flash flooding rapidly took over localized areas, the Cheltenham Fire Company was dispatched to multiple emergencies.
⛔ Road Closures & Hazards Numerous roads had to be quickly closed off due to rising water and hazardous conditions. We urge all residents to respect all emergency cones and barricades—they are there for your protection.
⚠️ A Message From Our Firefighters: Turn Around, Don't Drown! Many of yesterday's incidents could have been avoided. Please remember: Visibility is low during evening storms, making it hard to see how deep water actually is. Just 6 inches of water can cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Never drive around barricades or through moving water.
A massive thank you to our dedicated volunteer firefighters and mutual aid crews who worked tirelessly through the night to keep Cheltenham Township safe. |
