Over the past 24 hours Cheltenham Fire Company and our neighboring assist companies responded to two significant incidents in our coverage area. At approximately 02:45 hours, we were dispatched to a house fire with entrapment. Fortunately, Cheltenham Police Department arrived on scene quickly and assisted a physically challenged resident out of the home. The fire company was then able to concentrate on controlling the fire. Companies on scene were Cheltenham, Elkins Park, LaMott, Rockledge, Glenside and Cheltenham EMS.
Just 12 hours later, Cheltenham and Rockledge Fire Companies responded to a dryer fire that spread to surrounding materials on the third floor of a home. Both fires were quickly and safely brought under control.
